Now, more than ever, as we face the challenge of COVID-19, it is clear that governments and civil society must come together to rebuild a healthier, more gender-equal future. Our collective effort to apply a gender lens to COVID-19 is key not only to an effective response, but also to a long term recovery, and progress across every measure of development.

By applying a gender lens today, elevating girls and women to their rightful place as changemakers and leaders, and recognising and gendered dimensions of the COVID-19 crisis, global decision makers can put a more effective and equitable response in motion and rebuild a healthier, more gender-equal tomorrow.
