Changing attitudes towards maternal health is one of the reasons that favorable changes occurred in maternal mortality ratio. This ratio fell from 322 deaths per 100,000 live births in 1998-2001 to 194 deaths per 100,000 live births in 2007-2010, according to the research “Maternal mortality in Bangladesh: a Countdown to 2015 country case study”. UN’s key millennium development goal was to achieve decreasing maternal mortality rate 5.5% from 1990 to 2015. However, an annual rate of decrease of this rate is 5.6%, one of the findings of this research.
