A Road To Prevention: Join Global Webinar On Ending Childhood Sexual Violence

Childhood sexual violence (CSV) is a critical global issue affecting millions of children every year, with long-term repercussions on their physical and mental well-being. For advocates of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), addressing this crisis is essential to building safer and healthier societies. ToZero and the #SafeFuturesHub are hosting a landmark webinar to present actionable solutions to end childhood sexual violence worldwide.

The webinar will spotlight two groundbreaking reports that highlight both the vision and evidence needed to tackle this pressing issue:

  1. “A Vision to Zero: A Roadmap to Ending Childhood Sexual Violence” – This framework offers a survivor-centered and systemic approach to eradicating CSV through shared action and policy changes.
  2. “Building Safe Futures: Solutions to End Childhood Sexual Violence” – This report provides an evidence-based review of strategies proven effective in low- and middle-income countries, as well as in humanitarian settings.

These reports are particularly relevant to SRHR themes like maternal health, safe abortion, and the intersection of sexual violence and reproductive rights. Survivors of childhood sexual violence often face challenges like unsafe abortions, maternal complications, and limited access to comprehensive care. The insights from these reports emphasize the urgent need for survivor-centered health systems, robust legal frameworks, and community-based solutions to address these challenges.

The webinar sessions, scheduled for February 5 and February 6, will be accessible to a global audience, with translations available in Spanish, Arabic, and French. Experts will share pathways to systemic change, focusing on shared responsibility, survivor empowerment, and building resilient systems to prevent CSV.

Why It Matters
Childhood sexual violence doesn’t just affect individual victims—it undermines community health, development, and human rights. As the reports reveal, actionable solutions exist, particularly in low-resource settings, where tailored interventions can make a difference. This event is an opportunity for stakeholders, policymakers, and SRHR advocates to learn how collective efforts can break the cycle of violence and contribute to safer futures for children worldwide.
