Deliver for Good Campaign: Invest in Girls and Women
Wherever inequality lives, there stands a girl or woman able to turn the tide of adversity into a tidal wave of progress. We simply have to commit to her.
Girls and women carry more than babies or water. They carry families, businesses and a lot of potential. Investing in their health, rights, and wellbeing creates a positive ripple effect that lifts up entire countries.
Women Deliver’s Deliver for Good Campaign aims to facilitate the path for women where they are free, safe and healthy in countries around the world. The campaign is mobilizing multi-sector allies to redefine the narrative around girls and women—from the most vulnerable, to agents of change and critical drivers of progress. Together, it is building a movement fueling concrete action and implementation of the SDGs with a gender lens at global and national levels.
What is the Deliver for Good Campaign?
This global Campaign applies a gender lens to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promotes critical investments in girls and women to power progress for all. The evidence-based advocacy Campaign calls for better policies, programming, and financial investments in girls and women.
The Campaign is a network of partners united in a shared commitment to advocate for gender equality. With more than 500 supporting organizations, the campaign mobilizes advocates and decision-makers across sectors, issue areas, and generations to redefine the narrative around girls and women — from being described as victims and vulnerable, to being seen as powerful agents of change and critical drivers of progress.
12 Investments in Girls and Women
Following a review of the Open Working Group paper on the SDGs, Women Deliver and the initial Deliver for Good Campaign partners identified 12 investments for girls and women. These 12 investment areas for girls and women were selected because of their potential to bring about high social and economic returns, such as increased global productivity and equality, for individuals and societies for decades to come.
The Campaign focuses on the whole girl and the whole woman — not just her health needs, her educational needs, or her rights, but also essential socio-economic factors such as her access to land, clean energy, water and sanitation, as well as political participation and economic empowerment.
