Lack of access to commodities

Every year in Bangladesh, more than 5,000 mothers and  thousands of children die due to lack of access and appropriate use of 13 life-saving commodities, one of the findings of the research done by Population Council in 2014.

According to this research, these deaths are preventable and could be treated by increasing access to quality services including existing medicine facilities and other commodities.

This assessment determines that Bangladesh has well-developed policies to regulate production, distribution, sale and use of drugs as well as ensuring quality.
