Integrating Family Planning with a Maternal and Newborn Health Program on Postpartum Contraceptive Use
The study was conducted by researchers at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Johns Hopkins Bangladesh filed study site of Projonmo Study. Data was collected from 4321 women who were divided into intervention group and control group.
The researchers showed that integration of family planning with an maternal newborn health program significantly increased contraceptive use and reduced early pregnancy and short birth intervals within the first 24 months following birth.
