4 months post abortive contraception: Women who suffer from IPV are more likely to initiate contraceptives later.
The study was conducted by researchers from Ipas Bangladesh and Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Contraceptive use before getting pregnant was seen as correlate for contraceptive use 4 months post abortion. Women suffering from intimate partner violence (IPV) were reported to have delayed initiation of pregnancy. Also, delayed post abortion contraception was higher in manual vaccum aspiration group than those receiving medical abortion or dilatation and curettage.
