Phase 2 of ‘Right Here, Right Now’ project on its mission to create SRHR awareness

‘Right Here, Right Now (RHRN)’ aims to strengthen the sexual and reproductive health issues of adolescents, young people, marginalised and gender diverse populations in Bangladesh.

On December 13, the second phase of the project was inaugurated by the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Nasima Begum NDC at Hotel Amari, Dhaka. She said, “This project will have significant contributions in achieving various targets of the Sustainable Development Goals.”

She acknowledged all the organisations and people involved with this project and wished them success.

RHRN is a global partnership project and its coalition partners are BRAC, Naripokkho and Oboyob with Bandhu Social Welfare Society (Bandhu) as the lead organisation. The purpose of the project is to encourage adolescents and youth to make their own decisions about their sexual and reproductive health and rights. RHRN aims to ensure that an empowered youth group can make decisions about their SRHR issues, voice their needs and claim their rights and establish a gender-just society.

Members of Parliament Adiba Anjum Mita and Barrister Shamim Haider Patwar, along with Program Manager of Directorate General of Family Planning Dr. Joynal Haque and Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands were present in the inaugural ceremony.
