WHO’s Global Surveys Towards Better Adolescent Healthcare: Deadline – 1 June, 2024
In a bid to enhance the quality of health services for adolescents worldwide, the World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters is currently revising the Global Standards for Quality Health Services for Adolescents. As part of this endeavor, WHO and the International Association for Adolescent Health have launched a global consultation inviting stakeholders from all walks of life to contribute their insights.
According to recent announcements, three online surveys have been deployed to gather valuable perspectives. These surveys target a wide spectrum of participants, including healthcare workers, policymakers, researchers, development partners, and most importantly, the youth.
The deadline for participation is set for June 1, 2024.
The surveys include:
- Quality Health Care Survey (for Professionals): This survey focuses on gathering feedback to inform the revision of the Global Standards for Quality Health-Care Services for Adolescents. It addresses the needs, challenges, and facilitating factors in delivering adolescent health care. Participants can access the survey at tinyurl.com/Standards-ADH
- Core Competencies Survey (for Professionals): Geared towards primary care providers, this survey seeks input to refine the Core Competencies in Adolescent Health and Development. It aims to identify the training needs of the health workforce in adolescent health. Interested parties can access the survey at tinyurl.com/ADH-Competencies
- Adolescent and Youth Survey (for Youths): Designed specifically for adolescents and young adults aged 10-24 years, this survey invites them to share their perspectives on healthcare services. It serves as a platform for the youth to contribute directly to shaping global health guidance. The survey is accessible at tinyurl.com/WHO-YOUNG
The success of this global consultation hinges on widespread participation and collaboration. By sharing these surveys within their networks, individuals can play a pivotal role in ensuring that the voices of adolescents are heard and valued in the development of healthcare policies and standards.
“We urge everyone, from healthcare professionals to policymakers and youth advocates, to join us in this collective effort to strengthen global sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) initiatives,” emphasized the organizers.
These surveys are available in multiple languages, including English, Arabic, French, Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese, to facilitate inclusivity and diversity in participation.
