Violation of human rights
Child marriage is a common practice in Bangladesh. Many factors are responsible for child marriage, which includes, poverty, economic and social status, lack of education and social barrier.
Poverty is one of the frequently cited factors behind child marriage in Bangladesh. Where poverty is acute, young girls are considered as an economic burden to their families. Marrying these girls off at their early ages seen as reducing financial burden of the families. Again, early marriage is a violation of human rights. The major consequences of child marriage are the denial of childhood, the restriction of personal freedom and the lack of educational opportunity.
