Talking about Sex Education

Spontaneous acceptance of sex education in Bangladesh is yet to reach its mature stage, claims a New Age Bangladesh feature. Lack of proper method of sex education can lead to risky situation such as unwanted pregnancy or maternal death, indicates the article.

An investigation carried out by New Age Youth found out that most people still associate sex education with shame and guilt and that such feelings are “learned.” It also revealed that, the school going students are misinformed about subjects like puberty, sexual and reproductive health and menstrual cycles. Proper introductions are not made by physical education instructors at schools and therefore channel of sex related information comes through peers which are unreliable.
