SUST student files sexual harassment complaint

A female student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) has allegedly faced sexual harassment on the campus by a junior student.

Rahad Siddiki, a second-year student allegedly harassed a third-year female student on the campus on Jan 3. The victim later filed a complaint with the university’s Sexual Harassment and Assault Prevention Center, and also written complaints to the university authorities.

The victim stated that an unknown youth asked her to take a selfie with him while the victim was going to a tea stall on the campus. Upon refusal, the boy passed lewd comments. However, Rahad denied the allegation.

Harassment and Assault Prevention Center’s Convener Prof Yasmeen Haque said they were aware of the matter.
