SNBD Young Researchers of 2022 announced
Two young researchers have been selected as winners of Share-Net Bangladesh’s (SNBD) young researcher fellowship grant. The winners will receive a grant of BDT 2,00,000 each for their research.
Taspia Mohammed Marina, a Masters student from the Department of Anthropology, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, will conduct a research titled ‘Puberty Crisis: A Qualitative Study on Sex Education and Contraceptive Knowledge among Female Adolescents in Rural Area of Sunamganj, Bangladesh’. The objective of this research is to identify the degree of contraceptive knowledge provided by family or educational institute to female adolescents, to understand the socio-cultural perspective towards sex education among female adolescents in rural areas of Sunamganj and to explore the role of community-based organizations(government and non-governmental) in ensuring access to sexual health and contraceptive knowledge.
Abdullah Al Zubayer, a Masters student from the Department of Sociology, University of Barishal, will conduct a research titled ‘Access to SRHR information for the Adolescents: The perspectives from grassroot areas from Barishal District of Bangladesh’. The objective of this research is to to understand how adolescents in the grassroots in Barishal get adequate SRHR information and explore the brightness of the information they obtained.
The winners will present their research at the Share-Net Bangladesh knowledge fair.
