Two-days workshop at BSMMU on HIV, PLHIV, and mental health provided invaluable insights into the intersection of chronic illness and psychological well-being. During the workshop, I learned about the unique mental health challenges faced by PLHIV, including stigma, anxiety, and depression, and the importance of integrating mental health care into HIV treatment plans. Engaging with experts and practitioners, I gained a deeper understanding of the critical need for psychological support in HIV care, alongside medical treatment. The hands-on sessions focused on developing counseling skills and mental health interventions tailored to the needs of PLHIV, highlighting the importance of holistic care. Through case studies and group discussions, the workshop emphasized the importance of reducing mental health stigma and promoting mental wellness among PLHIV.

I was inspired by the collaborative approach discussed in the workshop, which involved not only healthcare providers but also community support systems to improve the overall well-being of PLHIV.

The workshop at BSMMU deepened my commitment to working on both the physical and mental health aspects of HIV care, equipping me with practical tools for future patient interactions.
