Mukto Akash Bangladesh
About the organisation
Mukto Akash Bangladesh (MAB) is a non-government community based registered self help organisation. MAB has established since 2003 with registered from Department of Social welfare Bangladesh in 2004 and NGO affairs bureau in 2010. As a SHG, MAB been extended care, treatment and support services for People Living with HIV/ AIDS (PLHIV/ ILWHAs) including health care, peer support, counseling and advocacy. MAB seeks to create an enabling environment by promoting the rights of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in Bangladesh.
MAB has been implementing the project named "Link Up: Better Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) for young people infected and affected by HIV (aged 10-24)" in Dhaka and Khulna divisions with technical and financial support by Link-Up Bangladesh and clinical support by Marie Stopes Bangladesh for two and half years. The major focuses of the project were reducing HIV transmission, HIV related maternal mortality, and increasing health services behaviours, uphold the sexual reproductive health and right among the target group. The major activity of the project were providing capacity building, established platform by the young key population, counseling and family planning services, leadership and development training. life skills training, community mobilisation/ sensitisation, clinical & psycho social support, advocacy and referral services like HTC, nutrition, ARV, lab investigation etc.
Currently MAB is providing needful SRHR support to the beneficiaries through its ongoing other projects and making referral linkages with the other organisations.

MAB has no research/ publication on this issues but MAB has shared different Link Up publication with the HIV infected and affected young people.
