About the organisation
Joyita Protibondhi Nari Unnayan Sangstha (JPNUS) is a women-led Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD), working in the climate-vulnerable coastal region of southwest Bangladesh since 2017. We empower women, persons with disabilities, Indigenous and Dalit communities to live with dignity, rights, and resilience.
Joyita Protibondhi Nari Unnayan Sangstha (JPNUS) is a grassroots Disabled Peopleโs Organization (OPD) established in 2017 in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh. The organization was formed to address the social, economic, and environmental challenges faced by persons with disabilities, women, and other marginalized communities. Located in a climate-vulnerable area affected by cyclones, salinity, and declining agricultural productivity, JPNUS works to promote disability inclusion, womenโs empowerment, climate resilience, human rights, and inclusive education. Through strong community engagement and collaboration with local government institutions, JPNUS strives to build an inclusive, resilient, and equitable society where all people can live with dignity and equal opportunities.
