Netherlands delegation is visiting Bangladesh to bring together all aspects of Dutch policy towards Bangladesh
A delegation from the Netherlands is visiting Bangladesh from August 28 to August 31. The delegation consists of 10 representatives from various government departments and is led by Birgitta Tazelaar, Deputy Director General for International Cooperation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, said a press release.
The team’s visit will bring together all aspects of Dutch policy towards Bangladesh, such as social and economic development, water and climate adaptation, business development, and issues of justice and human rights. The delegation will speak to the private sector partners, government actors, and civil society, it said. During the visit, they will see different private sector initiatives as well as development projects and will also visit the Rohingya refugee camps and local communities in Cox’s Bazar.
‘This year we have celebrated fifty years of partnership between the Netherlands and Bangladesh. During this period, Bangladesh has made remarkable social and economic progress and the Netherlands has been a reliable partner contributing to sustainable development in areas such as the RMG sector, agriculture, water, women empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights and strengthening of civil society,’ said the release issued by the embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Dhaka.
