How Abortion Law is Contributing to Unsafe Abortion

Unsafe abortion is highly prevalent in Bangladesh. Despite international concerns unplanned pregnancy is still dealt with Menstrual Regulation (MR) other unsafe methods of foetal termination since abortion is illegal in Bangladesh. This paper reviews the influence of legal restrictions on the incidence of unsafe abortion and how different socio-cultural, religious and other factors affect the decision-making regarding safe abortion services.
