HIV and opportunistic infection
Bangladesh is seeing a rapid increase in HIV/ AIDS cases in high risk population – specially injecting drug users (IDUs).
This study was conducted to get a picture of the spectrum of infections that HIV infected IDUs suffer from. It gives important insight to this communities needs in terms of health care facilities.
Young adults especially men were prone to become IDUs. Majority of the IDUs were low wage earners.
