Health Minister Calls for Supporting Women during Disasters
In a recent discussion event marking the celebration of World Population Day, leaders have draw attention to the vulnerability of women and adolescent girls during disasters. Health Minister Mohammed Nasim indicated that women and adolescents are very likely to face “health hazards and sexual violations” during times of conflict, disorder and disasters. He urged religious and political leaders as well as journalists to motivate people to be supportive towards women at times of emergency.
