Faridpur: Minister stresses women empowerment

Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain stressed the need for more empowerment of women to attain sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The Minister made the remarks on a day-long UNDP-financed regional workshop is Faridpur on Dec 30, adding that the present government has prepared a draft law with the object of empowering women.

Bangladesh has occupied 11th position in the world in empowering women under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The government believes that empowering women through their participation in decision making processes will help both the nation and the society.
