Driving Climate Resilience: UNDP Seeks Project Analyst to Strengthen Climate Finance in Bangladesh
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bangladesh is looking for a Project Analyst specialising in Climate Risk Disclosure and Audit. The Sustainable Financing initiative, which aims to integrate climate resilience into the country’s budgeting, financing, and funding systems, depends on this position. By strengthening institutional frameworks and governance, the program aids the government’s attempts to incorporate climate considerations into public finance management.
The Inclusive Budgeting and Financing for Climate Resilience (IBFCR) Phase II project will be implemented by the Project Analyst in close coordination with the Project Manager and Program Lead. In order to better integrate climate-responsive practices into important government institutions and non-governmental organisations, this phase builds on earlier successes. Developing a Climate Finance Strategy, revising climate-budget instruments and policies, and enhancing the institutional capability of the Finance Division and other relevant organisations are among the main responsibilities.
Improving accountability and monitoring systems at both national and legislative levels is a key component of the role in strengthening governance frameworks for climate finance. The Project Analyst will undertake climate performance audits in collaboration with the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (OCAG) and work with the Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division (IMED) to create climate indicators for efficient oversight. Supporting the Local Government Division in incorporating climate finance issues into local government planning and budgeting procedures is another aspect of the position.
