A look back at the Share-Net International Annual Business Meeting 2021 (ABM2021)
The Share-Net International Annual Business Meeting was held last week divided into two days on 28th and 30th December 2021.
Breaking the ice with a popular music track from Bangladesh, on day 1, 28th September, the opening was moderated by Aida Bilajbegovic, SNI Board member and Dorine Thomissen, SNI Coordinator. The meeting continued with an animated highlights video of 2021 and a presentation of Share-Net International. Next there were a compilation of the videos from all the seven hubs where they shared their highlights and achievements throughout the year 2021. The representation of all the hubs was not only enlightening but a beautiful blend of different cultures. Afterwards, Dinu Abdella, KIT Advisor for Postgraduate education in international health gracefully moderated an interactive session with all the participants using the fishbowl method for all the hubs to reflect and learn from 2021. Prior to closure of day 1, there were three inspirational Power talks by Lisa Juanola & Susana Chavez from BLOOM, CLACAI and Shahana Siddiqui, BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, DHaka, Bangladesh.
Day 2, 30th September was more interactive than day 1. Aida and Dorine started the meeting with a virtual walk-in of the day. Five representatives from ‘CREA’- Sally Leian, Hazel Birungi, Mayuri, Tanisha Chadha, Agnieszka Krol shared their presentations on making SRHR work more inclusive, followed by some interesting discussions among the participants from the hubs. Afterwards, Dennis van Wanrooij, KIT Health advisor SRHR conducted another participatory session to collect final input for 2022 plan. In two break-out rooms, one group worked on cross-country collaboration ideas and the other participated in international Community of Practice (iCoP). The discussions resulted with a lot of exchange of ideas and learning from each other. The meeting was wrapped up nicely with Ethiopian music and dance.
A warm note of thanks to all the members of Share-Net Bangladesh who actively attended the meeting.
