Girl hacked by Stalker in Madaripur

Incidents of girls being stalked and attacked by men are still occurring. In a recent incident, a girl from class X was allegedly hacked by a stalker in Jhautala area of Kalkini upazila in Madaripur.  She was hacked on her head, neck and mouth, said Mofazal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kalkini Police Station.

The girl’s family claimed that the attack was carried out by Samon Akhter, 25, because the girl refused his brother’s marriage proposal, who is an expat in Italy. They said that Samon has been following her for a long time. Samon, however denied the allegations saying that he was in Dhaka when the incident took place.

The victim was admitted to Kalkini Upazila Health Complex after the attack.
