6th Grader Gang Raped in Her Home

Four unidentified people forcefully entered a home in a remote village and raped a sixth grader on Tuesday night.

According to the relatives, the victims’ mother was also sexually abused by those men.

Police detained the mother for interrogation and did not allow the press to talk to her.

The 11  year old deceased was a student of Mohipur Cooperative High School in Patuakhali’s Kalapara upazila.

The girls’ mother was sleeping in the ground floor of their two-storey tin-roofed house in Sirajpur village around 8:30pm when the incident took place. The father, a carpenter, was away from home.

The neighbours ran to the house hearing the mothers’ howling.

The girls bloodstained body was taken to Kuakata Hospital where doctors declared her dead.

The cause of her death would be confirmed by forensic tests but her body had severe marks of torture, said Arifur Rahman, medical officer at Kuakata Hospital.

“Four people with their faces covered by cloth entered my brother’s house and sexually tortured my niece,” said the victim’s uncle.

The mother was also sexually abused he added.

The victim’s father filed a murder case said Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mohipur Police Station.

The mother was detained for interrogation.

Headmaster of Mohipur Cooperative High School, Abdus Salam, claimed immediate punishment for the murderes’.
