Red Card Campaign to prevent child marriage and sexual harassment

Bangladesh had the highest rate of child marriage in the world. In the latest survey showed that, under 18-marriage had declined to 59% in 2014 from 65% in 2011.

The government’s Upazila Governance Project (UZGP) is going to arrange “Red Card Campaign” on Wednesday to raise awareness about this destructive practice among people, especially students, teachers and parents. This project aims to cover some 195 high schools under 65 Upazilas of seven selected districts – Kishoreganj, Brahmanbarhia, Sirajganj, Khulna, Barguna, Sunamganj and Rangpur.
