Better Sexual and Reproductive Health Facilities for Female Garments Workers
Speakers at a seminar indicated that lack of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) facilities in Ready Made Garments (RMG) factories poses serious threats to female workers’ physical wellbeing, who fail to come to work, ultimately leading to financial loss of industries and economic growth. SNV Netherlands Development Organization’s “Working With Women” project organized the event to call for Media Sensitization for better integration of SRHR solutions in RMG factories. Dr. Nazneen Akhter, keynote speaker of the seminar, insisted on making the SRHR concepts comprehensible for everyone, especially for garments workers, so that they can speak up about their issues.
