Stopping Child Slavery
Bangladesh, according to Gabriella Olguin, holds the global record for highest rate of girls (39%) getting married at the lowest age (below 15 years). Although there are laws banning child marriage, the practice is still there in the country. She argues that forced child marriage is a kind of slavery where children’s conditions are worse than regular child labor. Olguin calls for better attention and commitment to ending forced and servile child marriages.
