Indigenous Peoples Development Services (IPDS)
About the organisation
Indigenous Peoples Services-IPDS is a voluntary and non-profitable non-governmental organisation. It was established in 2001. It is registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau, Bangladesh. IPDS has been working for the protection of promotion of the fundamental human rights of indigenous peoples and minorities. It has also focused on livelihood and social development of indigenous communities. IPDS has a vast experience implementing integrated community development projects targeting indigenous peoples since its inception. It has implemented the various projects of European Union, specially the European Instruments for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR) and Non-State Actors (NSA) successfully. IPDS has working experience with the United Nations Trust Fund on Indigenous Peoples, UKAid, USAID, Danida, Netherlands Embassy, British High Commission, UNDP, ILO, IFAD, Oxfam GB, the Asia Foundation, Misereor Germany, Action Aid, Justice, Peace and Integration of Creation (JPIC) Washington DC, Manusher Jonno Foundation, the Vrije University Amsterdam, Minority Rights Group Europe (MRGE) etc. IPDS has a special experience of working in promoting cultural diversity, social cohesion and tolerance. It has successfully implemented a project on SRHR focusing migrant indigenous women working in the beauty parlours in the city. Currently IPDS is a partner of VU Amsterdam under the Nuffic STITCH project.
IPDS has been working in greater Mymensingh, greater Sylhet and North-Bengal districts. It has experience of working with the indigenous NGOs in the CHT. It has advocacy and networking activities at national level for promoting indigenous peoples' rights.

SRHR publications/research
IPDS has implemented a two-years project with the partnership of Vrije University (VU) Amsterdam on the Triple Case Study on SRHR of Young Female Indigenous Women workers in the Beauty Parlour. Currently IPDS is implementing as a partner of VU Amsterdam under the Nuffic STITCH Project from 2019 to 2022. IPDS has made a documentary film on SRHR focusing young women workers in beauty parlour. It has publications on SRHR and diversity focusing indigenous women and girls.
