Protestor Attacked by Harasser

Shariful and his sister went to a nearby restaurant to have coffee when Nabin, a worker from another shop sexually harassed the girl by trying to hug her. Her brother, Shariful, retaliated on the spot by slapping the harasser. Later in the evening, Nabin, along with a cohort, attacked Shariful by beating him on his head with a lock. The incident took place at Manikganj.

Shariful was admitted to a hospital. The doctors declared that he was out of danger. Rakibuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Manikganj Sadar Police Station said they haven’t received any complaints in this connection. They said that they will take action after receiving a complaint.
