Role Overview
The purpose of this assignment is to work with the VSO Bangladesh in northern and southern part of Bangladesh focusing on youth empowerment.
The adviser will work very closely with VSO staff, Youth club volunteers and community based partner organisations to implement and evaluate VSO program with special focus on Child marriage and SRHR.
He/she will support linkages with local government institutions, service providers, govt. departments and private sector for strengthening AYSRHR program and reduce child marriage in the community.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Youth Work
Proven experience of working with youth and from a wide range of backgrounds with proven ability to facilitate.
Cross-Cultural Working
Direct and substantial experience of working cross-culturally and able to communicate to a range of audiences and promote sharing and learning between cultures
International Development
Knowledge of issues which are common to communities in developing countries, possibly achieved through working or living in a developing country. Experience of promoting learning about development issues.
Communication
Possession of strong verbal communication to work effectively and inclusively with an overseas colleague. Strong written communication skills needed for writing reports.
Planning and Organizing
Able to develop clear and realistic plans to deliver agreed objectives within deadlines, involving key individuals in the planning process.
Desirable
Experience of managing budgets, Programme Design and Evaluation
All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country.
