- Lead and support PMTSU and the National Team on gender issues;
- Assess and analyze the project from a gender perspective; Identify key gender issues in the project and key gender entry points;
- Assess socio-economic aspects, perform gender analysis and evaluation, and provide feedback to the project management to strengthen project implementation;
- Develop a list of indicators to be used to monitor socio economic parameters extent to gender mainstreaming ensuring focus on PRA/RRA activities while the project activities are carried out; lead innovations for mainstreaming, paying close attention to socio-economic and gender equity implications;
- Design the project activities relating to socio-economic monitoring and evaluation of socio-economic income options (livelihood) for the target beneficiaries.
- Identify vulnerable communities and groups exposed to climate changes and natural hazards;
- Identify constraints for socio-economic development in biodiversity management of the project areas and women empowerment in fisheries and aquaculture resiliencies suggest activities/interventions to overcome them.
- Assess to what extent rural livelihoods/ profession are based on coastal and haor wetland resources exploitations and survey (by administering a questioner survey and/or PRA/RRA) socio-economic conditions/ situations in and around the project sites and who else are engaged in socio-economic development;
- Identify awareness and training needs regarding gender; prepare a practical strategy for integrating gender into the project, including training programme and gender-monitoring framework;
- Work with the PMTSU to integrate gender into all project work plans and ToRs; review all outputs from a gender perspective; suggest monitoring mechanisms to monitor effectiveness of the project in addressing gender issues;
- Collect and compile baseline data and information on social and economic situation of fisheries and aquaculture in the selected sensitive areas with due consideration to gender issues;
- Support the project Team in conducting stocktaking and prioritizing of traditional and tested adaptation practices in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors and recommend suitable climate-resilient adaptation practices for greater women participation and implementation through the project;
- Design methodology and approach to strengthen community level capacity to understand risks and vulnerability assessment together with CC and Risk Management Expert;
- Work closely with the national team members to achieve project objectives of women empowerment, capacity improvement and reducing women's vulnerability to climate changes through smart adaptation and mitigations;
- Prepare and submit an End of Assignment Report (EoA);
- Carry out other activities as instructed by the PMU/or the FAOR.
- University degree in Development Studies/ Development Economics/ Agricultural Economics/ Sociology/Human Geography or other related field from a recognized university/ institution, preferably Ph. D. or equivalent.
- 8 years of relevant experience in of relevant practical field experience within one or more of the following areas: Socio-economic and/or household economy assessments; gender issues in rural Bangladesh, risks and vulnerability assessments, Capacity building of women.
- Fluency in Bengali, good command of English is desirable with computer literacy.
- Nationality of Bangladesh or resident in the country with a regular work permit.

Process and deliverables
Share-Net International would like to recruit a communication consultant to undertake this review. This person will guide the local consultants in Bangladesh, Jordan, and Burundi. Local consultants in the hubs will collect data about the local context which will be shared with the consultant to inform the overall communication strategy of Share-Net International, and the consultant will take care of the data collection for Share-Net Netherlands. The hired consultant is expected to:- Deliverable 1: Undertake a review of good practices on knowledge platform communication strategies.
- Deliverable 2: Develop a plan of action that highlights the strategies that will be used during the assignment. This action plan includes guidelines for local consultants.
- Deliverable 3: Undertake rapid needs assessment with the Share-Net International hub in the Netherlands (Share-Net Netherlands), its members, and secretariat staff (survey and online interviews).
- Deliverable 4: Develop an overall Communication Strategy for Share-Net international incorporating the Netherlands and with input from the local consultants in Jordan, Bangladesh and Burundi, and a plan to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the strategy. The document will include the following
- Organizational objectives and specific communication objectives
- Summary of needs assessment
- Stakeholders and target audiences
- Key messages
- Communication channels
- Plan of Action with tools/tactics/approaches
- Any budget needed for implementation (if needed)

Consultant profile
- Professional experience in developing, monitoring, and evaluating communication strategies and social media, preferably in large networks.
- Master level degree in communication science.
- Experience with network organisations (structure, governance, the role of members, the role of secretariat).
- Familiar with international development and/or Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and/or gender equality.
- Affinity with Share-Net International’s mission and vision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in spoken/written English.

Share-Net Netherlands is the Dutch knowledge platform for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and one of the country hubs of Share-Net International. We offer
