Department: Community Empowerment Programme (CEP) Job Title: Programme Coordinator ( PC) for project on “Empowering Women for Building Social Cohesion” Location: BRAC Head Office Reporting to: Programme Head ORGANISATION RELATIONSHIPS: Number of staff this role supervises: 9 Supervision received by : Programme Head of CEP PURPOSE: In line with BRAC’s strategic plans and partnership with UNWOMEN, the purpose of this position is to Work under the overall supervision of Programme Head, Community Empowerment Programme (CEP) for overall management and coordination of Partnership Project with UNWOMEN on “Empowering Women for Building Social Cohesion”. S/he has to work closely with Project team at Head office and Field offices in 6 districts (Dinajpur, Joypurhat, Satkhira, Jessore, Maulobhi Bazar and Cox’s Bazar) in Bangladesh starting from May 2017 - March 2018.   • Maintain strategic linkage to get leverage from the non-funding relationship with different institutions. Manage and ensure the integration and compliance of BRAC’s policies and relevant sector codes of good practice, including administrative, health, safety and security policies and frameworks.
Project Planning, Project Operational Management and Reporting Requirements:
  • Take the lead role to finalize the project operational plan during the inception phase and keep annual action plan updated throughout the project period.
  • Provide oversight, technical support and leadership to the core team at HO in their work in the focus areas of the program Lead the project, inclusive of tracking progress, budget planning, oversight and monitoring Produce high quality learning and analytical documents and share with different audience through different medium.
  • Develop the monitoring, evaluation, Accountability and learning (MEAL) framework and ensure its 100% implementation with quality.
  • Manage the timely review and analysis of project related documents and correspondence from project field operations, HO and UNWOMEN.
  • Produce all necessary reports e.g. donor reports, quarterly reports, annual progress reports etc. to a consistently high quality.
  • Provide qualitative support to the HO and Field offices in knowledge building, knowledge management and project delivery.
  • Negotiate, influence, and facilitate public dialogue promoting women’s leadership role in social cohesion.

Job Description IBTCI/ACME is seeking a Gender Specialist for its Women’s Empowerment Activity (WEA). The objective of WEA is increasing women’s empowerment and gender parity in five districts within the Feed the Future Zone of Influence (FTF ZOI). To achieve this goal, WEA supported 30,000 women in 1,350 communities through increased contributions to production, access to markets, and improving household wellbeing. WEA is aligned with the Development Objective (DO) 2 of the USAID’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) focusing improvement of food security. This is a short-term consulting opportunity, approximately 44 days of full-time engagement during mid-April through June 2017. This positions will require 5-6 weeks of work in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with some travel anticipated within other areas of Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, the RHRN platform strives for the protection, respect and fulfillment of SRHR of all young people including girls, young women and sexual and gender minorities. Specific attention is given to creating an enabling environment where young people can have access to SRHR information. Aligning with the project aim the Deputy Manager- Advocacy is responsible for smooth functioning of advocacy related activities consulting with NPC/Platform members & Program department of host organization.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Area of Advocacy: Associate
  1. Associate advocacy work together with NPC/platform members in designing, planning and implementing advocacy related work and campaigns aiming to achieve RHRN goals.
  2. Contribute in developing policy formulation and advocacy related strategies and support platform organization for implementation procedures align with project objective.
  3. Prepare monthly work plan for advocacy activities take initiative for implement the activities as per the approved work plan of RHRN project.
  4. Ensure effective liaise and network within inter and intra organizations working on human rights issues and update the progress as you instructed from line management.
  5. Maintain effective network with NGOs and GO including Law enforcement agencies, HR organizations, Civil society and ensure valuable presence as BSWS representative in workshops/seminars/symposium or any other program.
  6. Make sure that necessary documentation on violence, abuse and harassment data relevant to concern project objective is updated and submit compiled report to line management on time
  7. Coordinate in collecting, managing and analyzing research material related on Advocacy for RHRN project as well as programs of host organization.
  8. Develop and keep smooth relationship with both Print and Electronic media and organize dialogue with the media and related organizations as and when required.
  9. Coordinate in organizing meetings/rallies or observing any events as per instruction of host organization and combined decision of RHRN platform
  10. Maintain proper records and documentation and contribute to the promotion of advocacy by: a. Developing advocacy brief/IEC / BCC materials (i.e. Booklet, leaflet, poster, sticker etc) b. Contribute in managing articles/ writing for Newsletter or Annual report or any kinds of publications and publish as well as disseminate accordingly.
  11. Draft and circulate press release of various events undertaken by RHRN.
  12. Produce periodic progress reports as per work plan/required by the Management/platform decision and ensure timely submission.
  13. Provide active support to Sr. line management to review activity plan, working procedures, strategies revision as and when required.
  14. Contribute to develop, design or review training policy/procedures, training modules, manuals, session plan, and manage training/other events consulting with NPC/program department.
  15. Assist concern body to review and evaluate project status and act accordingly to meet the goal
  16. Ensure proper documentation of all records of training, assessment, evaluation, impact and reports etc.
Minimum Qualification:
  • Masters Degree in Social Sciences with a bias in Development Study, Law or any other related field from a recognized Institution.
  • Good knowledge in the utilization of Microsoft office programs
  • At least 3-5 years  experience in Advocacy, SRHR related experiences will add value

The Key Responsibility of the Position:
  1. Facilitate and guide processes to craft a significant communication & documentation vision for the RHRN project aligning with its vision, mission and long term programming.

Gender and Economic Empowerment Lead, Bangladesh USAID/Bangladesh plans to support a five year Feed the Future multi-sectoral nutrition program that will sustainably improve household nutrition through dietary diversity resulting in reduced childhood stunting. It is expected to be a $10 – 24.5 million USD, five-year program that will improve nutritional status for pregnant and lactating women, adolescent girls, and children, especially under age five. Position Summary: ACDI/VOCA is seeking a highly qualified Gender and Economic Empowerment Lead for this anticipated USAID Feed the Future funded activity in Bangladesh. The Gender and Economic Empowerment (GEE) Lead will serve as a key member of the program technical leadership team and is specifically responsible for developing and delivering targeted activities that will empower women and girls at the household and community levels.
