Factors behind Maternal Health Care Seeking Behavior
All four levels of factors (individual, interpersonal and family, community and social, and organizational and health systems level) of Social-Ecological Model (SEM) have strong influence in the maternal health care-seeking behavior of adolescent girls. At individual level, the adolescents have very little or no say in this aspect. Whereas, interpersonal and family level factors plays an important role in their use of skilled maternal health services. Furthermore, community and social factors and as well as organizational and health systems factors forms adolescent girls’ maternal health care-seeking behavior.
This research article, “Exploring Maternal Health Care-Seeking Behavior of Married Adolescent Girls in Bangladesh: A Social-Ecological Approach”, tries to explore maternal health care-seeking behavior of adolescent girls and their experiences related to pregnancy and delivery in Bangladesh.
