ShareNet at AIDS Impact 2015 conference

The 12th international conference on HIV/AIDS – AIDS Impact is currently underway in Amsterdam, Netherlands.  The conference brings together global experts working on the multi-faceted areas of intervention and prevention and treatment in the field of HIV/AIDS.  Behavioral change practitioners, psychosocial researchers and scientists along with biomedical experts and community change makers come together to share experiences on combatting and changing attitudes and approaches towards HIV/AIDS.

This year, ShareNet International is supporting a particular session at AIDS Impact on HIV integration in the larger conversation of sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR).  ShareNet international teams from Bangladesh, Burundi and the Netherlands came together to promote the international and country node platforms, encouraging SRHR practitioners to join the online community and resource centres.

ShareNet Bangladesh is the first of the country nodes to have an operational interactive website that function as a one-stop resource center and practitioners’ platform on all issues related to sexual reproductive health and rights in Bangladesh.  The AIDS Impact conference serves as an important platform for the ShareNet Bangladesh team to present the online community and their change making work in SRHR to a global audience.  The team united for the first time with the Burundi country colleagues, allowing for greater information and experience sharing among those operationalizing and maintaining the platforms.
