AIDS Impact 2015 in Amsterdam Begins

Delegates around the world are joining the AIDS Impact Conference 2015 that is taking place in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The conference has begun today, July 28, 2015 and will continue till July 31, 2015.

“AIDS Impact is an international behavioral and psychosocial science conference that addresses issues related to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care, focusing both globally and on specific communities and countries hardest hit by the HIV/AIDS epidemic” AIDS Impact conferences invite Delegates, practitioners and activists and provides them scopes to present their “studies, intervention and prevention schemes.”
Three Delegates will be joining the conference to represent Share-net Bangladesh in the event.
“Share-net Bangladesh is the country hub of Share-Net International, a Knowledge Platform focusing on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). The platform aims to contribute significantly to policy and program development in the field of SRHR in developing countries. Share-Net Bangladesh is the first of its global node, drawing on the years of experiences and interventions by practitioners, researchers, and policymakers in the field of sexual reproductive health, especially placing at the center of human rights.”
Issues related to HIV/AIDS are part of Share-net Bangladesh’s concern since it involves Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights practices.
Bangladesh is considered as a low HIV-prevalent country with an estimate of less than 0.1% HIV Positive.
According to National AIDS/STD Program (NASP) a total of 3,241 HIV cases has been reported in Bangladesh till December 1, 2013 of which 370 cases are new. 95 persons have been identified with AIDS and 82 people have died from the disease. Cumulatively, 1299 people have developed AIDS and  472 persons have died from AIDS so far.
