Climate Change: Why Women need more attention in Post-Disaster Scenario
In her opinion piece Ayesha Kabir draws attention to the ignored and potentially harmful impacts of climate change on women’s sexual health and rights. She emphasizes that although Bangladesh has internationally been deemed successful in dealing with climate change and disasters, women’s health and sexual security in post-disaster scenario have been widely overlooked. Although UN Women in Bangladesh is already working on this matter, she suggests that the real initiatives should come from the government’s side with policy and implementation as well as active contribution from media to sensitize people regarding this less-explored issue.
